African delegates attending Paris Peace Forum
The Paris Peace Forum is neither a summit nor a conference. It is a new annual event based on a simple idea: international cooperation is key to tackling global challenges and ensuring durable peace.
To support collective action, it gathers all actors of global governance under one roof for three days. Through original formats of debates and the presentation of solutions, attending stakeholders will discuss and develop solutions for today’s transborder challenges.
These are the projects originating from Africa that will be presented at the forum;
Green String Network, Kenya
The “Kumekucha” intervention is a community-led social healing program which addresses symptoms of trauma, guides through discussions about violent extremism, forgiveness and reconciliation and deconstructs entrenched cycles of violence at the family level while making clear links to the community and societal level.

The “AU-EU Youth Cooperation Hub” is a platform that aims to test innovative solutions to common challenges on Europe and Africa through a new approach to youth inclusion.
Agence d’Exécution des Travaux d’Intérêt Public, Central African Republic
The LONDO (“Stand-Up”) Project aims to provide temporary employment to poor and vulnerable people throughout the entire territory of the Central African Republic.
Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-Africa), Nigeria
The “National Initiative for Sustainable Peacebuilding Architecture Project” has the objective to support local and cross-border community dialogue, peace building actions and training that links local initiatives.
Media Awareness and Justice Initiative, Nigeria
“Adaptive Climate Change Methodologies for Rural Communities in the Niger Delta” focus on sustainable forms of energy use for food production and economic empowerment.
Climate Innovation Laboratory TOGO (CIL TOGO), Togo
The “Togo Climate Innovation Laboratory” is a platform for promoting and supporting eco-innovative initiatives that aim to help businesses meet the challenges of the climate around strategic sectors such as energy, water, waste management and mobility.
Uganda National Committee for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities (UNCP-GMA), Uganda
The project “Popularization of the manual on the establishment of national mechanism for atrocity prevention” set up to produce a manual to provide best practices in establishment and management of National Mechanisms that strengthen atrocity prevention.
WARA CONSERVATION PROJECT, Guinea

This project consists in collecting organic waste produced by households and Bukavu’s markets in order to transform them in clean coal to cook food.
Rwanda Development Board, Rwanda
The “Volcanoes National Park” in Rwanda is part of a unique transboundary protected area where live endangered Mountain Gorilla. In this program conservation, tourism will serve as a catalyst for community and economic transformation.
